I started my career as a fine artist, taking commissions for portraits and landscapes.  Later on however, as it was a bit of a feast or famine existence, I decided to retrain and become a secondary school teacher, specialising in teaching science.  My degree was science-based, so making this shift wasn't hard, though the training was a bit - facing mostly mad pubescent kids almost immediately during one's training as a school teacher...  

I managed to stay in the profession for almost ten years, before I realised it was becoming detrimental to my health (stressful, very long hours, and paid no overtime, so forget it...).  

At the end of 2016, I called it a day and went on a sabbatical. I just knew I had to revive my soul somehow, and restart my life in an entirely new direction while I still could...

I always wrote since I was a child - either poems or short stories - though I wrote and directed a couple of short plays as well; so in 2018, I took an MA in Directing Fiction at Central Film School, following a three month course at the same school.  I knew this was for me as I was finally engaging in a creative pursuit, which I hadn't done for what felt like millennia.  

As my graduation piece for Central Film School, I wrote and directed a short film, during which process I realised I loved writing for the screen.  This led me to apply to the salubrious London Film School to do another MA in Screenwriting and I haven't looked back.  One of the best decisions of my life.
